In Kherson, the invaders seized the regional universal scientific library named after Oles Honchar. The director of the library and part of the staff categorically refused to cooperate with the occupiers and collaborators.

This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevsky.

According to Sobolevsky, the orcs in the Kherson region, in violation of all possible norms of morality and international law, continue to put pressure on educational institutions and cultures. One of the latest examples is the seizure of the Kherson Regional Universal Scientific Library named after. O. Gonchar.
“This library is known to all Kherson residents, because thanks to the efforts and selfless work of the library’s management and staff, this institution has become a powerful cultural center, on the basis of which work and events were regularly held in various areas – from inclusion to safe urban space. After the start of the war, the library became one of our humanitarian centers, where refugees stayed for a long time,” the deputy said.
He also stressed that the director of the library, Nadezhda Korotun, and a significant part of the staff categorically refused to cooperate with the occupiers and collaborators, after which there was a threat to the life and health of the director.. Currently, it is located in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
