Tomorrow the UK will introduce new sanctions against Belarus

19:49 04 July Kyiv, Ukraine

The new package against Belarus will include a ban on the import and export of goods worth about 60 million pounds, in particular, we are talking about luxury goods.
It is noted that the restrictions were adopted against the backdrop of Belarus' support for Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and will begin to operate tomorrow, July 5.
What the new UK sanctions against Belarus imply

The package of restrictions will extend to the aggressor's ally some important measures previously taken against Russia. In particular, we are talking about unilateral bans on trade in such goods:
  • export of processed goods;
  • export of advanced technological components, including those used in quantum computing;
  • the export of luxury goods, including British art and designer bags;
  • import of Belarusian iron and steel.
In addition, the UK government restricts Belarus' access to the British financial services sector, which will prevent a number of Belarusian companies from trading debts and securities in London.
