Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova was appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to Switzerland. This was announced by the People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
This information was also confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba.
According to him, the selection process was very thorough, and the idea itself was born “in a circle of several people”:
On July 17, Volodymyr Zelensky removed Venediktova from the post of the country's Prosecutor General in accordance with the law "On the Legal Regime of Martial Law". The duties of the Prosecutor General are assigned to her deputy Alexei Simonenko. Venediktova worked in her post for a little over two years.
