The Ukrainian military carried out a series of counterattacks between Izyum and Slavyansk and recaptured positions in a number of settlements.
This was reported at the Institute of Warfare (ISW).
The occupiers continued their ground attacks northeast and south of Bakhmut, attempted to advance on Peski, and made a limited ground strike southwest of Donetsk.
The ISW notes that the higher Russian command faces a dilemma, the severity of which may depend on the ability of Ukraine to conduct significant counter-offensive operations in several directions at the same time.
If Ukraine can reinforce its position around Izyum while continuing to launch a counter-offensive on Kherson, then Russian forces will face a difficult choice.
They will likely have to decide whether to abandon their positions to the west around Izyum in favor of defending their land lines further north and east, or bring in more personnel and equipment to try and hold the current front line.
