Shmygal commented on the possible evacuation from Kyiv

The situation is far from declaring the evacuation of any non-frontline city, and even more so the capital. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this during a government meeting on Tuesday, November 8.

"I will return to the topic of the evacuation of the population from Kyiv or from another city. An honest conversation here is important and correct. Therefore, I once again emphasize the position of the government and responsible departments: evacuation can be used as a last resort as an emergency step. You always need to have a plan B, but now the situation is far from declaring the evacuation of any non-frontline city, and even more so the capital," the official explained.

According to the head of government, energy and air defense forces continue their work.

"We are doing everything possible to restore the full operation of the energy system as soon as possible. The government, power engineers, local authorities and public utilities continue to prepare for winter. We are purchasing backup equipment, preparing additional heating points, actively negotiating with international partners on delivery in order to quickly repair everything and be ready for different situations," he summed up.
