The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the near future, at the request of Ukraine, will send missions to the Rivne, Khmelnytsky and South Ukrainian nuclear power plants, as well as to the area of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

This was stated by the director general of the organization Rafael Grossi, according to the IAEA website.

"At the request of Ukraine, an agreement was reached between the government and the IAEA on sending groups of experts from the agency on nuclear and physical safety to the South Ukrainian, Khmelnytsky and Rivne nuclear power plants (NPPs)."

It is noted that the IAEA will also send its third such expert mission to Chernobyl.

Each mission will initially last about a week, Grossi said, adding that others could follow if needed.
