German Chancellor Olaf Scholz promised to supply Ukraine with the necessary weapons.

He stated this during his speech in the Bundestag before the EU, NATO and G7 summits.

It is reported on Wednesday, June 22, the publication Welt.

"Ukraine is getting weapons that it needs especially at this stage of the war," Scholz said.

According to him, Germany supplies weapons - "today and in the future."

Ukraine has the right to defend itself against Russia, Scholz said.

"And our duty as European neighbors, as defenders of law and freedom, as friends and partners of Ukraine, is to support them in the best possible way," he said.

"We will continue to support Ukraine on a massive scale - financially, economically, humanitarianly, politically, and not least with the supply of weapons," the chancellor said, adding that support would continue as long as Ukraine needed it.

Earlier, Germany reported that in the first three months of the war in Ukraine, permission was given to supply weapons and other equipment to Ukraine in the amount of 350.1 million euros.
