EU will supply Ukraine with weapons as much as necessary - NATO Secretary General

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the EU countries are able to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons for as long as necessary.

 
He stated this at an event organized by Politico.

According to Stoltenberg, NATO allies have a "political and moral obligation" not to stop the supply of weapons.
 
"For as long as it takes, my whole message is that we must be ready for the long haul.. I can't say exactly how long this war will last. But I'm just saying to decision makers in NATO capitals... that we have a political and moral obligation to provide substantial support for a long time to come," the NATO Secretary General said.
 
"We must support the supply of modern weapons, heavy weapons, as NATO allies have long done, and the role that NATO can play in providing support," Stoltenberg stressed.
 
He stressed that the war in Ukraine actually began back in 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea and supported militants in eastern Ukraine.

Stoltenberg stressed that the war in Ukraine will be long.
 
"We, NATO allies, have been and must continue to be prepared for the long term, because we cannot allow Putin in any sense to see that he is rewarded for the brutal use of force," the secretary general said.
 
According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Ukraine needs a weapon that will prove that the West really wants to help Ukraine win - and not just not lose.
