12,272 people became victims of Russia's armed attack on Ukraine: 5,237 were killed and 7,035 were injured. In July, 285 civilian deaths and 880 injuries were confirmed.
Such data was recorded by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) from February 24 to midnight July 24.

Among the dead are 2019 men, 1379 women, 143 girls and 164 boys, as well as 41 children and 1491 adults, the sex of which is still unknown.
"Most of the recorded civilian casualties were caused by the use of explosive weapons with a wide area of effect, including shelling from heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems, as well as rocket and air strikes," OHCHR said.
However, the real figures are "significantly higher" as information is delayed from some areas where intense fighting continues, and many reports of civilian casualties need to be confirmed.

This applies, in particular, to Mariupol (Donetsk region), Izyum (Kharkiv region), Lysichansk, Popasna and Severodonetsk (Luhansk region).
