In Kyiv, the Russian language was excluded from the curricula of communal pre-school and general secondary education.

This was announced by the Kyiv City Council.

This decision was made at a meeting of the Kyiv City Council on November 10. 64 deputies voted for him.

The head of the Permanent Commission on Education and Science, Family, Youth and Sports, Vadim Vasilchuk, noted that in the conditions of the war with Russia it is inappropriate and wrong to conduct the educational process and study the Russian language in educational institutions.
“The leaders of the Russian Federation have repeatedly stated that Russia goes as far as the far-spread Russian language. In this regard, the Kyiv City Council made a decision that will avoid the escalation of tension in society and strengthen the protection of the educational space of Kyiv from the hybrid influences of the aggressor state. Language matters. And in times of war, it is a matter of national security," he said.
