The list of citizens for obtaining the status of a participant in hostilities has been expanded

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has expanded the list of persons for obtaining the status of a participant in hostilities. This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The changes introduced provide for bringing the Decree of August 20, 2014 in line with the updated legislation of Ukraine and ensuring the protection of the rights and freedoms of military personnel and representatives of other Security and Defense Forces who hosted and participate in the defense of Ukraine from the Russian Federation.

The procedure for granting and depriving the status of a participant in hostilities for persons who were directly involved in the activities necessary to ensure the defense of Ukraine, protect the security of the population and the interests of the state in connection with the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine was determined.

Thanks to the changes made, this category of persons will be able to enjoy the benefits and guarantees determined by the current legislation, in particular the Law of Ukraine On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection.
