The President signed the law on bomb shelters in every new building

Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law according to which developers are required to design and build bomb shelters.

The bill's progress status reads: "Returned signed by the President."

Bill No. 7398 provides for the urgent deployment of a network of bomb shelters in Ukraine, including in new buildings. Thus, urban planning documentation must include information on the planned engineering and technical measures of civil protection, otherwise it will not be approved.

The body of state architectural and construction control can now refuse to issue a certificate of readiness for operation of the building if the developer does not complete the work on equipping the bomb shelter.

Draft Law No. 7398 also contains a provision on the availability of engineering and technical means for the evacuation of people with limited mobility in buildings where more than 50 people permanently live and in buildings that can temporarily accommodate more than 100 people.

In addition, the law simplifies the procedure for transferring a land plot for the placement of civil protection facilities and determines how to maintain a shelter object in proper condition.
