The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) conducted an all-Ukrainian survey on the readiness of Ukrainians for the heating season.

Respondents were asked to rate how prepared they think their families are for possible heating problems in the winter that central and local authorities warn about.

The majority of respondents (70%) answered that their house is rather or completely ready for possible problems with heating. Of these, only 24% consider themselves fully prepared, while 47% consider themselves rather ready and say that “there is still something to be done to prepare”. 24% of Ukrainians do not consider themselves ready, of which 12% are not at all
Residents of the West of Ukraine, non-IDPs and more affluent respondents consider themselves better prepared.
The winter of 2022-2023 is called "the most difficult for all the years of independence". Heat tariffs will not rise. At the same time, the head of Naftogaz stated that the heating season would start later and end earlier.

As of the end of September, the Cabinet of Ministers estimated the readiness of the thermal power system for winter at 88%.
