In place of the fallen fragments of an enemy missile near the playground in the Kiev park. T.G. Shevchenko planted Brioti chestnuts.

Media reports about it.

According to Vitaliy Tsymbalyuk, director of the Zelenstroy of the Shevchenkovsky district, after the shelling on October 10, a crater with a diameter of 12 meters and a depth of more than 3 meters remained in the ground. It was quickly liquidated and the playground was restored. Broken trees had to be removed, but thanks to patrons, new ones were planted in their place.
"The park has an irrigation system, so the chestnuts will do well here.. These are good healthy seedlings. For a year, a chestnut gives a crown growth of 50-80 centimeters, so in two or three years we will have a shadow on the playground. We plant these trees with a closed root system, in the soil that was prepared in our farm. And in the spring we will apply mineral fertilizers for better rooting and development of the crown," Tsymbalyuk said.
