Yesterday, July 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine ordered to allocate funds from the reserve fund of the state budget to compensate universities for students' debts for the second semester of education. This was announced by the Minister of Education and Science Sergei Shkarlet.

So, we are talking about applicants for education, registered in the territories of hostilities, as well as those who are in temporary occupation or blockade. Their number is more than 13 thousand people.

"In order to streamline the situation, the Ministry of Education and Science initiated the issue of compensation for the costs of higher education institutions related to the management of the Ministry. So, in 2022, 86 million 814.4 thousand hryvnias will be allocated by the Ministry of Education and Science for further direction to higher education institutions," the head of the department noted.

He explained that due to the lack of receipt of funds from tuition fees, it is impossible to ensure the timely payment of wages to scientific, pedagogical and other employees or to pay for the provided utilities.

Earlier, Shkarlet spoke about the format of the 2022/23 academic year. In particular, the authorities are considering an option in which some disciplines will be taught offline, and some online.
