On the morning of November 8, emergency power outages are applied in a number of regions of Ukraine due to an increase in electricity consumption by the population against the backdrop of a cold snap.

This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.
"From 09:30, emergency shutdowns were applied in Kyiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava regions. Additional consumption restrictions are necessary because electricity consumption is growing due to cold weather, which leads to an increase in the load on equipment and deficit. electricity in the power system," the statement said.
Ukrenergo noted that the additional load on the power grid increases the risk of accidents no less serious than those caused by Russian shelling.

At the same time, scheduled schedules of hourly shutdowns during the day are valid throughout Ukraine. More accurate information on outages in specific regions should be provided by the local distribution network operator (oblenergo).

The company also said that the repair and restoration work of the energy infrastructure continues around the clock.
"Please do not forget about the need to consume electricity economically! This will allow less restrictions to be applied to prevent accidents, and will also allow power engineers to focus on repairs of damaged facilities, on which the power of entire regions depends, " Ukrenergo added.
