The World Boxing Council (WBC) excluded Russians and Belarusians from their ratings. In addition, representatives of the aggressor countries will not be able to fight for the championship titles of the organization.

This decision was made at the WBC Congress in Acapulco, Mexico, said the organization's president, Mauricio Suleiman.
"All boxers from Russia and Belarus have been removed from the WBC ratings. The organization will not sanction fights in these two countries. Their citizens will not be able to compete for the WBC title," Suleiman said.
Note that at the time of the decision, there are several Russian boxers in the WBC ratings. And some of them are title holders. Artur Beterbiev, also a Canadian citizen, holds the WBC light heavyweight belt.. Aleksey Papin is number one in the WBC cruiserweight rankings, while Evgeny Romanov is number one in the catchweight division.

At the same time, the WBC left a loophole for athletes, saying that Russian and Belarusian boxers can apply for a review of the decision, depending on their ties with Russia.
