Japan extends sanctions against Russia

Against the backdrop of Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territories, Japan has expanded sanctions against the aggressor. More than 80 individuals and 9 legal entities were included in the sanctions list. The corresponding list is published by the Japanese Ministry of Finance.

 

Relatives of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, deputy head of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, propagandist Margarita Simonyan were blacklisted by Japan.

Also, restrictions were imposed against the presidential envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District Yuri Chaika, gymnast Alina Kabaeva, who is called the unofficial wife of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the leader of the biker club Night Wolves Alexander Zaldostanov, nicknamed the Surgeon, a member of the "Council of the Administration of the Zaporozhye Region" Vladimir Rogov, adviser to the "head of Crimea" Oleg Kryuchkov. The assets of all those on the register will be frozen.

In addition, Japan's sanctions included: the Kalashnikov arms concern, ODKB-Klimov (a leading Russian developer of gas turbine engines for military and civil aviation), the Sozvezdie concern (production of intelligent electronic warfare systems), the Ruselectronics holding (part of the Rostec corporation).
