Today, on May 6, a historic event is taking place - the coronation of King Charles III and his wife Camilla is taking place in London, the capital of Great Britain.
The celebrations began in the morning. The route of the ceremony will run from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey. Already at 08:00 (Kyiv time), viewing platforms for spectators were opened in Hyde Park, Green Park and St. James Park, along the shopping center and Whitehall.
It is expected that at 12:20 a procession with a royal carriage, accompanied by military personnel, will leave for Westminster Abbey. In 40 minutes, the service in the abbey should begin, during which the monarch, according to tradition, will be introduced to the people, take an oath, go through the stages of anointing and descend to the throne.
Around 4:30 p.m., the ceremony will end with a greeting from the balcony of Buckingham Palace and a flight of military aircraft.

As you know, on September 10, 2022, Charles III came to the British throne at the age of 73 after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8, 2022. He became the oldest monarch at the time of the beginning of the reign in the history of Great Britain. The coronation ceremony was decided to be held later, because it is only symbolic.
Recall, Ukraine sent a delegation to the coronation ceremony of Charles III. It included Prime Minister Denys Shmygal and First Lady Olena Zelenska. Yesterday they visited the Ukrainian military, trained in Britain.
