The German Foreign Ministry decided to suspend the visa facilitation agreement for the Russian Federation

German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that Germany is suspending the visa facilitation agreement with Russia.

This is reported by Russian media.

According to her, Europe needs to find a joint solution with different positions.

"My suggestion is to suspend the visa facilitation agreement so that we no longer issue multi-year visas, to allow states that are more affected by this issue to check more closely for what purposes visas are used," Burbock said.

Recall that the EU is preparing to complicate the issuance of visas for Russians. Brussels aims to "go beyond restricting visa facilitation" and may take additional steps in this direction before the end of the year.
