The United States of America is not currently negotiating with Poland on the deployment of nuclear weapons on its territory.

This was announced on Thursday, October 6, at a briefing by Deputy Representative of the US State Department Vedant Patel.

"As for this particular request, we are not aware of it or that it has been violated," Patel said.

He also added that the US has no plans to deploy nuclear weapons on the territory of NATO member states that joined the Alliance after 1997.

At the same time, he stressed that Poland is an important ally of the United States within the framework of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Earlier, Andrzej Duda announced that Poland was in talks with the United States regarding participation in a nuclear sharing program to counter the growing threats from Russia.
