US seizes 100,000 tons of oil from Russian ship

The AP also reports on the confiscation. According to the agency, after a court decision on violation of sanctions, oil from the tanker is reloaded into the capacities of the port of Karystos on the island of Evvia in the Aegean Sea.

The Lana tanker was transporting more than 100 thousand tons of Iranian oil, which violated the US and EU sanctions imposed against Iran. Previously, the tanker was called Pegas, but now it bears the name Lana. Served his crew of 19 Russians.

A US Justice Department spokesman declined to comment on the oil seizure.
