Syria severed diplomatic relations with Ukraine

The Government of Syria decided to break off diplomatic relations with Ukraine.

 
This was reported in the Syrian Foreign Ministry.
 
“Syria has decided to break off diplomatic relations with Ukraine in accordance with the principle of reciprocity and in response to the decision of the government of Ukraine,” the publication said in a statement.
 
At the end of June, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry severed diplomatic relations with Syria due to the recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR.

Ukraine also announced the start of a trade embargo against Syria and sanctions against Syrian individuals and companies.
