In June, a decline in sales of some automakers was recorded in Europe, by almost 50%.

This is evidenced by the data of the European Automobile Association, writes Reuters.

Germany's Volkswagen Group has been hit harder among major automakers, with sales nearly a quarter lower than last June.

However, in the first half of the year, the largest drop of 21.1% was recorded by the corporation Stellantis.

Among smaller brands, new registrations for Volvo fell 47.9% in June and 28.5% in the first half, while Jaguar Land Group recorded a smaller fall in June of 13.2%, but overall this year the fall was 34.7%.

Major car manufacturers from BMW to Stellantis have reported falling sales worldwide in recent weeks ahead of their second quarter results this month.

All four major markets in the European Union - Spain, Italy, Germany and France - reported a decline in car registrations.
