Poland will buy 116 used Abrams tanks from the United States to make up for a shortage that arose after Warsaw handed over Soviet T-72 tanks to the Ukrainian army.

This was reported by Polskie Radio on Friday, July 15.

The first deliveries will begin early next year, the newspaper notes.

The American armored fighting vehicles will replace the 240 T-72 tanks that Ukraine received as military aid.

The media added that a deal between the defense ministries of both countries has already been concluded.
