Next maneuvers: Russia and Belarus began preparations for the exercises "Union Shield-2023"

Next year, the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus will hold joint exercises Union Shield-2023. The last joint exercises ended with an invasion of Ukraine, including from the territory of Belarus.

This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant-General Viktor Khrenin, during the joint Board of the Ministries of Defense of Belarus and Russia.
“Preparations have begun for conducting joint operational training Union Shield-2023,” the minister said.
He called these exercises "the main measure of joint training of military command and control bodies and troops next year."
"Improvement of joint military systems continues. To this end, our military command and control bodies are holding joint events, exchanging best practices, improving the regulatory and legal framework, and conducting joint training," Khrenin said.
Khrenin did not say on which ranges the exercises would take place and what types of troops would be involved in the exercises.
