Flooding in the eastern Italian region of Marche killed 11 people, including a child. Two more people are considered missing. Such data on Saturday, September 17, was published by ANSA, citing local authorities.
As indicated, they are still looking for an eight-year-old girl and a 56-year-old woman.
150 people evacuated due to flood. At the same time, the leadership of the region is urging people to stay at home and move to the upper floors, as showers are expected again.. New evacuations are not ruled out.
In addition, as a precaution, all shopping centers in the vicinity have been closed, and traffic is prohibited on some local roads.
According to ANSA, the Council of Ministers declared a state of emergency in Marche and approved the first tranche of funding in the amount of five million euros.
Recall that on the night of September 16, a powerful downpour unexpectedly hit the region. In a couple of hours, about 400 mm of rain fell, streets, houses and roads were flooded in several cities.
