In the coming years, there may be a "serious risk" of a Russian invasion of Poland.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defense of the country Marcin Očepa, PAP reports.

"There is a serious risk of war with Russia, which we will face in the period from 3 to 10 years," he said.

According to Ochepa, this is exactly how long it will take the Russian Federation to restore its military potential after an all-out war against Ukraine.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Defense of Poland, the country's draft defense budget for next year plans record spending on the army - more than 97 billion zloty (750 billion hryvnia). According to the new off-budget mechanism, the Armed Forces Support Fund, it is planned to use 30-40 billion zlotys (210-310 billion hryvnias).

"We must use this time to re-equip the Polish army as much as possible," he said.
