The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the EU countries discussed the creation of a mission to provide military assistance to Ukraine. An informal meeting took place in New York.

Josep Borrell, head of European diplomacy, spoke about this at a briefing.

He noted that a decision on the mission could be made at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in October.

"We continued to discuss our proposal to establish a military assistance mission in the European Union. I hope that at the next meeting in October we will be able to make a decision, which is very fast for European standards," Borrell said.

According to the head of European diplomacy, the decision must be agreed with the Ukrainian side.
