Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agree on ceasefire

From 16:00 local time, the heads of the State Committees for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchibek Tashiev and Tajikistan Saimumin Yatimov agreed on a ceasefire.

Negotiations of the parties were held on the border of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The number of injured Kyrgyz as a result of clashes, according to the latest data, has reached 42. Reuters previously reported the death of one civilian in Tajikistan and several wounded. There is no official information about the dead and wounded.

It was also reported that the Tajik military seized an administrative building on the territory of Kyrgyzstan.

Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan evacuated residents of border areas of Batken region. Several temporary accommodation centers have been opened, and local residents are also traveling to safe areas by personal transport.
