China launches its own rocket for the first time

In China, for the first time, a nationally developed launch vehicle Lijian-1 was launched. She put six satellites into orbit at once.

The launch was carried out at 12:12 Beijing time (07:12 Kyiv time) from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome in the north of the country.

It is known that the experimental spacecraft put into orbit will be used to observe the Earth's atmosphere and test electromagnetic devices.

The Lijian-1 four-stage launch vehicle is China's largest solid-propellant rocket. It is capable of launching a payload of about 1,500 kg into a sun-synchronous orbit 500 kilometers high.
