Finland will allocate 139 million euros for the construction of a fence along the border with Russia

The Finnish authorities will allocate 139 million euros from the budget for the construction of a fence along the border with Russia.

On Thursday, November 17, informs Reuters.

The publication notes that Finland now has a state border with Russia, which is covered with forest and is still marked only by signs and plastic lines for most of its length of 1300 km.
 
"For the initial stage of the project, the country's parliament has already allocated six million euros," - specifies the publication.

The country's border service department said it plans to build a fence 130-260 km long. They will cover, in particular, border crossing points and their surrounding areas in southeastern Finland.
