The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic will invite the EU countries to discuss the ban on Schengen visas for Russian citizens.

This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky, the French news agency AFP reports on Friday, August 12.

The issue is planned to be discussed during the meeting of Foreign Ministers in Prague, which is scheduled for the end of August.

“In the context of Russian aggression, which the Kremlin continues to escalate, there can be no question of joint tourism for Russian citizens,” he said.

The European Commission is ready to discuss proposals for further sanctions against the Russian Federation. However, it is too early to comment on the possible termination of the issuance of tourist visas to Russians.
