On Monday, September 26, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz tested positive for coronavirus. After that, he immediately went into self-isolation.

 
This was stated by the official representative of the German government, Steffen Hebestrait, according to the Stuttgarter Zeitung.

According to him, Scholz has mild symptoms of a cold.. He immediately went into self-isolation.

The chancellor traveled over the weekend to the Gulf countries - Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar - for energy talks. Before the trip, he did a PCR test, which turned out to be negative. On Sunday, he also tested negative.

Scholz scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, a consultation with the prime ministers of the federal states on agreements. Now they will be held virtually.

Note that Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez also fell ill with the coronavirus. He announced this on his Twitter account.

Sanchez attended the UN General Assembly in New York last week. He was also scheduled to take part in several more events on Sunday.
